Hello everybody!
My name is Carina Waines and I am the specialist dance and drama teacher here at Berkley Normal Middle School.
Drama and dance are two passions of mine, having been part of many musicals, plays and performances throughout my life. I also love to sing and play piano and guitar. This is my sixth year of teaching, having taught primary and intermediate ages throughout this time.
Prior to coming to Berkley, I was teaching at Te Puke Intermediate School and leading the performing arts for the school. My husband and I moved from Tauranga in 2022 so he could study to become an occupational therapist. We are loving Hamilton and would love to hear your recommendations for awesome bush walks or lovely places to visit in the Waikato.
At Berkley Normal Middle School, there are lots of opportunities for students to explore their interests and to find their place. I hope that time spent with the performing arts team will inspire students to explore the arts and find what they love.
I can’t wait to meet all of our wonderful students and whānau and look forward to having fun in the dance and drama room with you.
