Welcome to the world of Visual Arts!
When I am not teaching you will find me at the gym, doing arts and crafts, baking weird and wacky sweet treats, longboarding, walking my dog, shopping, playing board games or hanging with my friends and family at the beach.
I have a husband, and two daughters aged 8 and 10 who both go to Hukanui Primary School. My absolute favourite food is Blondie Whittakers chocolate. I also love a good pizza (as long as there’s no pineapple on it).
I feel honoured to have the opportunity to deliver you a programme that will spark further interest or perhaps even produce a whole new passion in the area of visual arts. Seeing students come in and experience new and exciting things, so that they feel accomplished at the end of a task ensures I leave my job at the end of the day smiling. I aim to provide a safe and fun environment for students to express themselves artistically, and thoroughly enjoy supporting students every step of the way.
In Visual Arts I expect you to:
- Enter class with an open mind to give various art mediums a go.
- Maximize your creativity. Art is personal, it is an opportunity to take risks and express ourselves.
- Respect the teacher, listen to and follow directions.
- Respect the materials/equipment. If you do this the options become limitless.
- Control your ‘talking’ volume. Art can be a relaxing, creative outlet - maintaining a calm environment really helps with this.
I absolutely look forward to igniting the passion for visual arts in each and every one of you this year and having fun along the way.
